Toronto Raptors signs Kyle Lowry to a 4 yr deal

The Toronto Raptors announced they have re-signed free-agent point guard Kyle Lowry to a multi-year contract. According to sources the deal is worth $48 Million over 4 years.

“We made it known that our top priority heading into the offseason was to re-sign Kyle,” said Raptors President and General Manager Masai Ujiri. “He was a key to our success last season and we are delighted that he wants to be here in Toronto to help us continue to build a championship program.”

Kyle Lowry played a key role in leading the Raptors to a club record 48 wins and their second Atlantic Division title in team history. Now that one of the Raptors key pieces is back what is the next step?

The Raptors had a great season last year but can the same team take us back to the playoffs or do we need to make one more major move to get us over the hump.

I think signing Kyle Lowry was a good choice by Raptors GM Masai Ujiri to build on the success of last season. Lowry averaged about 17.9 pts last season and I will take that any day.

Kyle Lowry deserves this contract and give him some credit for staying in the tdot-o where others were so quick to leave.

Despite all the Lowry haters he has proven to be one of the better PG last season. No one played with more heart and determination than this guy.

I am glad that he decided to return to the Raptors, that gives us some stability at the PG position and Lowry was the main reason we did that well last season.
